Is a C a passing grade at SDSU? ›

Undergraduate Students: A grade of Credit (CR) is awarded for work equivalent to a course letter grade of C (2.0) or better. No Credit (NC) is awarded for work equivalent to all grades, which earn less than 2.0 grade points (C- through F).

After the registration deadline, students may request to register late with instructor and/or department approval and a $25 late payment fee.

Since SDSU is a selective school with only a 37% acceptance rate, applicants with a 2.5-grade point average may struggle to gain admission.

Based on 2022-23 numbers, four years at SDSU would cost $128,440 for in-state students and $175,960 for out-of-state students.

By the numbers: Under the new 6% annual tuition hike, San Diego State University and CSU San Marcos students will pay $6,084 for the 2024-25 school year, up from $5,742 this fall. That would reach $7,682 by the 2028-29 academic year, a 34% increase.

A course may be repeated once for grade forgiveness. Although the original grade(s) shall remain on the transcript, only the most recent grade will be used in calculating grade point averages.

Offers of admission will be rescinded if the GPA, completed courses, or course grades are lower than what is reported on the applications or if the student misses any admission deadlines.

Dropping a class is much better for your GPA than failing a class or getting a C or D in it is because a dropped class does not affect your grade point average. Dropping a class may also raise your GPA because it can allow you to spend more time on other classes and raise your grades in them.

Being on academic probation means that a student's academic performance is below the state minimum required for graduation and that improvement is required. Students are placed on academic probation at the end of the semester when their SDSU GPA and/or cumulative GPA is less than 2.0 (less than a "C" average).
