One of the best ways of experiencing The Exiled Lands is through the multiplayer features available for Conan Exiles. Being a clan member is the best option for achieving this, as you get to engage in many activities, including PvP and PvE modes, to reap the rewards and enjoy the camaraderie of being in a clan.
This should come as a benefit as you'll get to meet new people and form life-long bonds with fellow clan members, but how to join is what many players have wondered. We've provided a complete breakdown of how clans work and how to join one in Conan Exiles.
How To Join A Clan In Conan Exiles?
Clans are the game's take on guilds where players group up to play, explore, build, defend, and complete other PvP or PvE experiences. In Conan Exiles, there's a maximum cap on how many players can join a clan, for which, as it stands, ten players are the current limit.
All clan members are allowed one follower; however, they may no longer have any Thralls following them, as they can't join the clan. Once you're part of a clan, you'll share all buildings with other clan members, with a few exceptions:
- Should you be the last person to leave a clan, all buildings will have their ownership reverted to you or the last person to go
- In a multiplayer clan, the clan owns all buildings without one person's ownership.
Non-clan members may not be allowed to build, craft, or claim neighboring land on the property currently owned by your clan. Additionally, they can't use any equipment or tools which are owned by your clan.
To join a clan, the clan leader must be positioned beside you and press the "E" key or find your player name under "New Member," as they need to forward a clan invite which you can accept should you wish to join. The real benefit of joining a clan is being a part of a group of players, especially if those players are friends.
You'll get to meet plenty of exciting players when being a part of a clan, and it can be valuable if they happen to have resources, items, and Thralls you couldn't acquire. This makes crafting more accessible as these Thralls will become available to you and other clan members, especially when crafting higher-grade armor and weapons.
Clan members also share Purge Meters, which can be helpful when engaging in Purges and can be filled up when completing various in-game activities. Once the Purge commences, all clan members must defend their base against enemy NPCs and creatures attempting to destroy all buildings within their radius.
Additionally, clan members will share Decay Timers as the base timer is influenced by the Tiers of every building and the quantity your clan owns; you can check the timer on all buildings if you equip the Repair Hammer. The timer will begin counting down once you're away from your base, whether for exploring or being logged out, and you can reset the moment you're back at base or log into the game.
Should you abandon your base for extended periods, the server will destroy or "blow up" your base on official servers. Private servers are different; they can set the maximum Decay Timers to what best suits them.
