In the aftermath, Rin and Sakura revive Shirou by giving his recovered soul an artificial body provided by Touko Aozaki. Resuming their relationship and finally at peace, Shirou and Sakura - along with Rin, Taiga, and a now-incarnated Rider - go to see the cherry blossoms as Shirou promised.

Since Shirou has discarded his heroic ideals to save Sakura, Archer chooses to have Kotomine graft his left arm onto Shirou, who lost his arm protecting Ilya (following the way of the Counter Guardians, sacrificing one life to save another rather than losing both).
Shirou is able to save Sakura from the curse by destroying Avenger but loses his life in the process. In the True Ending, Illya sacrifices herself to close the gate to the Holy Grail and implant Shirou's soul into a puppet body. He goes on to live a normal life with Sakura and Rider.
