There are always events happening around campus, so you won't be bored, unless you are a big party/big school person. Mercer is peaceful, but a tight-knit community. Everyone will know you, but that's not a bad thing. It is not hard to stand out, so you will be recognized for your efforts. Professors are incredible and extremely down-to-earth, making you feel welcome and providing excellent opportunities. They care about their students. Here, you won't just be a student, you'll be a colleague. The area isn't very walkable, but the campus is beautiful and always being renewed. Diversity is also a 10/10, as there are quite a few international students around. The courses are fun and challenging (I am in engineering), but I haven't heard of any terrible professor/course story.... Since my first week on campus, I have felt welcomed and included within the community. The upper classmen are very kind and want to help get new students plugged into the campus. It is easy to become involved at Samford between the clubs, sororities/fraternities, small groups, etc. you will quickly meet people that will become your closest friends. My favorite thing about Samford is the smaller class sizes and the professors. For me having a relationship with my professor, who knows me by name, has been so helpful. The professors are attentive and patient with students and are willing to go out of their way to help you understand a concept. They truly want you to succeed not just academically but also physically, emotionally, and spiritually. At Samford everyone you meet quickly becomes like family. I am most excited to see the changes within my program in the Art and Design School as it grows....
